New Member Program

The New Member Experience is based on Tri Sigma’s mission, vision and values. Our mission statement challenges us to establish among its members a perpetual bond of friendship, to develop in them strong womanly character, and impress upon them high standards of conduct.  We strive to achieve this by providing exceptional experiences that empower our members to change the world.  The new member program is grounded in these tenets. 

• The ideal new member program is 6-8 weeks; however, it will never exceed 8 weeks. 
• The program is designed to educate new members on Tri Sigma's history, values, and operations, as well as provide the opportunity to develop valuable leadership and academic success skills. 
• Guided online sessions complement weekly in-person group meetings.
• A Big Sis is paired with each new member to help her navigate the new member period and serve as a mentor throughout college.
• New members will also have responsibilities that mirror those of the initiated members. This can include study hours, participation requirements, a financial commitment, the opportunity to hold leadership positions, and a responsibility to uphold the values and standards of Tri Sigma. These responsibilities continue throughout the collegiate membership experience.

New Member Period in the Epsilon Chi Chapter 

Throughout the New Member Period in the Epsilon Chi chapter, the Vice President of New Member Education works with a team of other empowered, passionate Sigmas to ensure that each New Member finds her home in our chapter. The New Member Period is a unique and exciting time in every member's Sigma journey, a time in which they meet lifelong friends, learn about all the amazing opportunities that membership in Tri Sigma can bring, and discover that they now have an extremely loyal support system that will be there for her not just during active collegiate membership, but for life. The New Member Education team strives to demonstrate that each New Member is an important and loved addition to our chapter and to illustrate that membership in the Epsilon Chi chapter can truly be a life changing experience. By the end of the New Member Period, each New Member will be ready to transition from New Member to Sister, confident in all that they have learned and empowered to make a lasting impact on our chapter while embracing all that Epsilon Chi has to offer. The New Member period is a truly exceptional experience, as it represents the beginning of each New Member's individual journey to find their place within our sisterhood.
